Presbyterian Community Outreach is a not-for-profit organization based out of First Presbyterian Church of Slidell, LA. We work on homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina, utilizing the skills of volunteers from all over the nation. We focus on homes whose owners are under-insured, not insured, elderly, and disabled. We work mostly in the North Shore area, which includes many rural homes, and we also work in the New Orleans area – usually New Orleans East, Little Woods, Chalmette, and Violet neighborhoods. We first started just a few weeks after the storm hit. This page on our website helps explain the history of PCO, and how we got started doing what we’re doing.
